"the 100 most alluring women in cinema"lotsa room for debate here from one of my favorite film critics
http://blog.sfgate.com/mlasalle/2011/12 ... ma/#2132-1 (his sexy dudes list is still under construction)
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"No Charlize Theron???? Sorry I'll have to come up with my own list........No frack it life's too short. As far as Marilyn Monroe there are three kinds of men, and I'm the 3d: she did nothing for me. Anne Francis? Please no!. Likeways for Scarlett Johanssen, the most over rated "beauty" of our age. I'd have to add: Sarah Wayne Callies (Walking Dead cutie pie); Julie Benz (Dexter's ex wife); Natalie Portman; Shelley Conn (wife in Terra Nova; also mistresses).
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"I agree with 90% of his list, including lot of foreign actresses i had not heard of.
I think an interesting list would be TV actresses, some of whom may not have been in cinema.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"No Giuletta Masina, no Gina Lolobrigida, no Jean Moreau, no Capucine, no Bernadette Peters
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"Not too big on older films. He did include Hayworth, Gardner, Lamarr, Garbo and Dietrich.
But where are Carole Lombard, Lauren Bacall, Barbara Stanwyck, Claudette Colbert or Audrey Hepburn? And no mention of the original "It Girl," Clara Bow? There was a reason she was given the moniker. Nor mention of Mae West?
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
TV actresses? They all line up behind Diana Rigg!
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"For the distaff side: http://blog.sfgate.com/mlasalle/2011/12 ... in-cinema/
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"Best-looking, head-to-toe, has to be Raquel Welch, but for most alluring, look no further than the original Bond Girl, Ursula Andress, once accurately described as the finest piece of Swiss architecture since the Alps.

My mom couldn't pick between Butch and Sundance, but knew it was one of those two . . .
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
Agreed, especially Carole Lombard, and what about Myrna Loy, Teresa Wright? Plus Julie Andrews, who even at 65 when I met her was still something.... And ditto on Diana Rigg. Those Avengers shows are a treat.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
Yes, she rose to fame in a movie called It.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
As Dorothy Parker wrote: "It, hell: she had those!"
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"Catherine Deneuve
Julie Christie Sophia Loren Jeanne Moreau Kim Novak Angie Dickinson Hedy Lamarr Liz Taylor ( Cat on a hot Tin roof) Jessica Lange (Postman always rings twice)
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"Nobody has yet mentioned Karen Black, so I'll add her name to the lists.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
In the 'to-each-his-own' category, I always found her unappealing in the extreme. In the Redford version of Great Gatsby, she was miscast as Myrtle Wilson.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
Great list, Per.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
I happened to watch "Rio Bravo" over the T'giving weekend. It was the first time seeing it since 1970. I was amazed at how bad Angie Dickinson was as an actress at the time. Very wooden, and almost every mannerism was a direct steal from Lauren Bacall in "To Have and Have Not."
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"One more vote for Lauren Bacall: in her prime, she was the smartest, toughest, and sexiest of all.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
Could not agree more w the top 2 names on the list, Per. And add to it kuha's mention of Lauren Bacall. Cannot seem to think clearly enough on this subject to create a list of my own...too much allure from too many sources, I guess.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
Crossed eyes don't too much for me. Or where they just too close together?
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
And she knew how to.....whistle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MheNUWyROv8
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
No Scandinavians on your list? Interesting. I can't imagine a top 10 list of most alluring women in cinema without Ingrid Bergman.
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"yeah, my top 10 list has Bergman in places 1-11. (Curtiz's use of soft lighting in Casablanca was cheating, sure, but nobody ever looked greater than her in the attempted-reconciliation scene in Rick's office.)
Re: "the 100 most alluring women in cinema"
With the New Year upon us, I might give Per post-of-the-year for this list. But I would start it with Kim Novak.
