Well, I hope they don't get it moved to Saturday in 2012. My folks live four miles from the course in Louisville and my plan was to fly in Saturday for Thanksgiving week, go hang out at the course Sunday while various teams are previewing it, maybe paint everything Carolina Blue if UNC qualifies, else Colorado black and gold, then arrange for tables for a big pizza feed Sunday eve for whoever among you guys and gals might be in town (at a pizza parlor, not my folks house!) A Saturday meet makes the leisurely fun the day before not too doable (but a Saturday night gathering still possible.)

I really don't like regionals moving from Saturday. Most of the time I could attend a Regionals, but now on Friday I don't think I will. Although I wasn't planning on going to Wisconsin next year for Regionals anyway.

Why don't they have Nationals on Sunday and Regionals on Saturday. Seems to make to much sense to me. As both days might get better attendance from the working class. :?

There are some schools that will not compete on Sunday. I think Brigham Young is the most prominent of those.

Reconsider next's year's Regional. There will be a number of posters there, I think. Also, I am not sure that the switch from Monday is necessarily on for next year, so they may still be on Saturday.

I liked the nationals in Tucson (U. of Arizona host). No one froze to death.

Hard to think of a more non-traditional XC location (and I visit there and average of twice a year).

By the way, it was 41 and partly sunny with a light breeze in Madison today at noon but it is supposed to warm up to 54 and Sunny for Thanksgiving  .

I thought I posted this earlier--but it isn't showing. I liked the nationals in Tucson--great weather--no one froze, your cars started, no weather delays at the airport, etc.

The Univ. of Arizona has held three NCAA meets--all quite succesful. Remember when Arizona's Aaron Ramirez overtook Arkansas's Joe Falcon with 200m to go to win the individual title?

Joe tripped over something IIRC...perhaps a sunbeam?

Actually, I was standing maybe 50 feet from where he tripped. He looked back right as the course transitioned from downhill to uphill and in the crease he chopped his step and stumbled bet never totally hit the ground.
