Normally open July 4th only---the one day a year when partisan politics, religion, etc. are acceptable topics on this Board. (The 2012 window is now closed; thanks for playing.)

Diana Krall is playing nearby but were going to the free outside dance thingy.
Funny. It's raining cats and dogs here. A neighbour down the road has grill out. Everyone else has the sense to stay inside. Turns out he's an American and celebrating by himself.

Nothing more American than suing some asshole. Good for you and have some ribs with your liens.
For me.......1. Installed a new ceiling fan, 2. Looked at a heat pump for sale, 3. will be driving to the bay area to get back to painting the house, and then 4. excessive gin drinking. Best fireworks are on TV.

Wife and I are walking down to the South Pasadena Festival of Balloons Parade, then walking to the Rose Bowl later tonight for the Drum and Bugle Corps and fireworks! (total walking distance about 7 miles -- helps burn off the food and drink calories!).
The new ladyfriend (well, it's too early to even call her that) is out of town with family this entire weekend. So last night consisted of getting to know my neighbors of an entire year (with whom I was only casually acquainted with until yesterday) via a cookout in their what-passes-for-a-backyard-in-Baltimore and then heading down to the harbor to watch the fireworks. Not as fun with a bunch of dudes, but it was a good show nonetheless.
Today I'm torn between working out, running some errands, and doing absolutely nothing. Clearly the three are not all entirely mutually exclusive, but I'm not sure I have the energy to do more than one.
I went for a run wth my baby brother in Park City, flew to Dallas and spent 4 my hour layover reading newspapers I picked up in the airports.
Did get to see some fireworks (no sound- makes it weird) when we dipped below the clouds before landing.

Spending today doing laundry, relaxing, and getting caught up. I am very glad I got someone to work for me today.
I must be tired as this is the only free speech thread I am replying to.
