either you believe :

1) athletics fans are incapable of political debate

2) politics shoud only be discussed by a "higher" form of intellectual life which you have not deigned to inform us of ( obviously if someone used the handle "kissinger" or "mcnamara" you'd be creaming yourself to read every post here )

3) you wish to censor free speech

4) you are not intellectually capable of discussing politics with athletics' fans

How about: 5) this is a T&F site, if any of us feels the urge to discuss politics, there are plenty of other places to go to.
