Normally open July 4th only---the one day a year when partisan politics, religion, etc. are acceptable topics on this Board. (The 2012 window is now closed; thanks for playing.)
Could you keep this forum open for possibly 2 - 3 days after the election, as obviously we need to digest the result & have some discussion about it's repercussions/ramifications.
We have behaved ourselves very well here these past few days ( surprisingly ( where's mike6.9 cm ? ) !!! )
It would be a nice reward for us ( & you might be quite interested to hear the views ! )

Shirley, you jest!!!
Calling GW a criminal . . . . isn't exactly behaving now, is it?
Uh, he has several hundred tons of unnecessary US blood on his hands courtesy of his administration's lies and bungling over there in Iraq. Mission accomplished . . .

Only about 2 million tons to go to match JFK and Truman...

why ?
If you have to ask...
yawn...
from the guy who doesn't believe athletics fans are capable of discussing politics
i cannot understand your stance
either you believe :
1) athletics fans are incapable of political debate
2) politics shoud only be discussed by a "higher" form of intellectual life which you have not deigned to inform us of ( obviously if someone used the handle "kissinger" or "mcnamara" you'd be creaming yourself to read every post here )
3) you wish to censor free speech
4) you are not intellectually capable of discussing politics with athletics' fans
pick one closest to the above instead of your inevitable ( yawn... ) option 5) ( your 5) is not required to enlighten - just closest, is sufficent infomation to elucidate & of course "none of above" is disallowed as it contradicts the request in bold )

Are you saying Korea and Vietnam were unnecessary? Welcome to the other side.
Y'all need to be Murkans come tomorrow; this forum closes today.
However!...........
We will permit non-partisan election-related thread(s) to propogate on the Things Not Track forum. But that forum operates under the old rules, so please be aware of a required change in attitude when posting.

Oh man, that's a short time to have to learn how to be civil again. I was just getting the hang of that INcivility thang!! How many banishments will we see before everyone gets the hang of the new-old rules again?
gh wrote:Enjoy your last few hours of incivility, one and all.
All in all I thought this was quite a civil forum. Conrgrats to all . . .
I agree - there's been more incivility on a "Wariner should do the 800" or an "Alan Webb: Discuss" thread. Even when we've disagreed we've mostly disputed the facts or interpretation of the facts rather than descending to insults. It's been fun.

So we open the "Banned on T&FN,com" message board? We could have all opposite guidelines. You MUST troll, be rude, discuss politics & religion, accuse everyone of DRUGS!

Sounds like my old athletics club in the pub of a Thursday night after training.
