Wow, I am kind of surprised, but not. There are only really a handful of athletes that I would be really surprised if they went down, but hearing of positives is shocking nonetheless.
Crazy stuff, and ridiculously embarrassing for our sport yet again.
First tests were in april/may. The second tests were taken in Osaka. The third tests were taken last week in Moscow. The tests are not the same as they were in the first round, though the Osaka tests were not mentioned against the Moscow ones.

Unless it all means they cross checked the DNA from the tests and the urine is not from the same person across their three tests...
The Russian T&F site hasn:t mentioned that the test samples (presumably in Moscow) are not the same as those taken in the first two rounds (though this could (not) be true).

At least Alminova will get picked for the Russian team for Beijing!
No way, I never trusted Pishchalnikova! In fact, I'f I'm being perfectly honest, I still think the Russian team have an organised doping regime, and this kind of backs that up.

Well I never really had anything to go on so I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Still, I think there are more obvious Russians than these ones.
Someone clarify exactly what "DNA convergence" is and how you test for it.
I wondered if that was a bad translation of saying the urine samples were from the same person ?
The AFP report appears to be a translation of this: http://www.allsport.ru/index.php?id=16639 I would probably translate the phrase "несовпадение ДНК в допинг-пробах" as "DNA mismatch in doping-probes".
BTW, the AllSport.ru site says they'll have a detailed interview with Balakhnichev soon.
This will make me even MORE paranoid when it comes to other athletes like the 400m girls, the walkers, the 10k and 5k runner (she has to be the most doped of ALL)!!

Me neither - the deep grunt she let out when she threw, her facial acne, and rapid progression were all small hints

Again, I agree. These athletes are from different events with different coaches, yet they all have something funky going on with their DNA testing. They must be getting the same 'instructions' from somewhere.
Whatever little hope I had in the Russian team has now been lost completely.
This would all suggest to me that more DQs may be in the offing. Too much a coincidence perhaps that this year's 1500 trio just happened to get caught up last year? Meaning that at at this point the IAAF has merely acted to go after those named for Beijing? (but has more in the hopper)
