Wow - this has the potential to be a huge issue. If they have refined the ability to assess gender identity on a more accurate basis than has been available, the ramifications will be significant. Without casting aspersions on anyone in particular, there have definitely been examples within our sport of individuals who may have passed the XX/XY chromosome thing, but seemed much more "masculine" than the women they were competing against. This story could have long legs.

Ummm, thanks for your "contribution", onlooker, but is this a real story or not??? Do the Chinese authorities have the ability to go ahead and do this?
Is it April 1st in Beijing or? If this is a real story, and it breaks into the global media, I can almost hear the outraged screeches from a certain extreme end of a socio-political group. Does anyone have any further verification of the possible validity of the "looks matter" issue? And how it might reverberate (watch the spelling) around the worlds of both sport and gender issues?

Yeb - the 4 B's doesnt work Im afraid! Had a male colleague that Got a tummy tuck, a chop and a slit! The roll-em over and spread him trick is redundant, im afraid. I suspect that the chinese test will prove a useful a pre-condition to 2055 marriages!
