You missed 2 women's events: marathon and 20k walk.

I know these things are just opinions and there's no point arguing much about them, but one pick that strikes me as really bizarre is Yohan Diniz for gold in the 20k walk. OK, the guy had one good result in the event last year (won the Euro Cup), but nothing apart from that and he's never even competed at this distance in major championships - he always does the 50.

Are you predicting that Blanka Vlasic is going to switch nationality? Do you know something we don't? :P

Kudos to Mr. Hymans for his chutzpah, despite those nattering nabob naysayers like Jon and guru!!!

Alekna back on top?
Phillips (LJ) come-back?
CC over AN and RH?
Idowu's P18 pays off?
K Bek no double?
Robles over Liu?
KC doesn't stutter-step in semi OR final?

Richards' illness doesn't recur?
Nada for JennS?

I like your women's LJ/TJ gold medallist prediction! :D

I think the Chinese factor might come to the fore in the wDT (Sun Taifeng) and the wHT (Zhang Wenxiu).

I'd rather pick Koech over Shaheen for the 3000m steeplechase and I would have said Sihine for the 5000m as well ONLY if he doesn't run the 10000m.

Absolutely. I don:t believe it will be any other way. Injury stopped him last year.

Marlow wrote:Richards' illness doesn't recur?

Nope, and let:s leave it at that.

Also surprised at this forecast.

27 medals for the US? That would be a nice haul.

I'd be perfecty happy with 5 for GB (1 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze) but obviously they'll be another Gold added once the WMarathon Predictions are up and seems a bit weird leaving Nicola out of the 400m. Also think we'll medal at W4x4 and wouldn't discount Jess in the Hep, so that would be 9

I didn't pick him T&FNews did. :o I did say WOW!

The 800m often boils down to experience so I don't agree Kaki is a shoe in at all.

And to add salt to China's ongoing PR wounds, you're picking Robles over Liu!

(as you should)

Ha i say. When your game plan is to go to the front and not let anyone pass you dont need experience. I know talent when i see it and i done saw a bunch of it.

I feel bad for Reed.He just happen to be around when the next greatest 800 arrived. Bad luck.

I agree with this - Sanders misjudged her pace in Osaka and easily has the beating of Williams.

This is great. Now all we are lacking is one for the US Olympic Trials ( presumibily, someone would step up to UK, Australia, etc).

I too was surprised that JennS was not on the womens list nor was Lolo Jones.
