Ist olympic drug banIn the "1968 [edit for detail]Mexico City Olympics Revisited" item today, they mention one of the "landmarks" as the "first drug ban" of the games as: a swede pentathlete who imbibed in "excessive alcohol to improve his shooting."

First Olympic positive, yes. First IAAF positive, as I recall, was the year before, same event, different sex. I'm sure on the first part, but not the second.
Here are all the Olympic doping irregularities for athletics:

Good point, thanx. And yes, based on history, Jones's medals are all toast. I also think the relay medals are gone as well. The analogy to Jerome Young does not hold up well, in which his medal was removed, but the other runners were allowed to keep theirs. Young only ran in the preliminaries and not the final. Jones ran only in the final of the 4x1 and 4x4.
I'm not so sure about that. Although Young didn't run the final, that apparently wasn't why the others were allowed to keep their medals. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ch ... 9675.story
Yes, I did mean the Olympics (as the title of the thread says).
According to wikipedia, Brett Barclay and Danuta Rosani were the only Athletics doping positives from the Montreal Games. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doping_at_ ... 6_Montreal
Nobody named Brett competed for Canada in Athletics at the 1976 Olympic Games. Nobody named Barclay competed for Canada in Athletics at the 1976 Olympic Games. And nobody named Brett Barclay, in any variation I could find, has competed for any nation at the Olympics in any sport. And in case he was an alternate in 1976, the 1976 Canadian Olympic Association does not list anybody by that name as being on the Canadian team.
My guess is that someone who knows a Brett Barclay in Canada has been bogusly adding his name as a PED user in various online sites. This site has him as a PED-suspected member of the Toronto Blue Jays. Online baseball sites have no listing of a Brett Barclay.

Did somebody on this list change that link because Barclay is no longer on it? Either that or they're reading this board.
you are spot on ( i believe fizbin was an ole poster here ) : http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... =151710365
