Thanou opened her season last weekend with a 11.99 (-2.7m/s) and Fani Halkia opened with 59.24. Don't know if it was lack of competition or lack of form that led to the poor marks.
At the same come, Louis Tsatoumas jumped 8.05m and Hrysopiyi Devetzi jumped 6.55/14.70w.

Perhaps both.
100m (-2.7m/s) 1 Ekaterini Thanou 11.99, 2 Maria Karastamati 12.34
400mh 1 Fani Chalkia 59.24, 2 Ekaterini Karataraki 64.49

Good Lord!
Karastamati ran 11.01 a few years back and now she's running the kind of times a highschooler who doesn't train very much would run!
As for 60 seconds over 4h for Halkia- That about highlights the limit of her natural talents!
I really wish a journo would sit down with these two and ask why, having been 10.8 and 52.8 athletes (respectively), they are now struggling to break 12 seconds and 60 seconds. Its completely and utterly absurd, not to mention a mockery.

But still, I'm MORE than happy if those times are considered to be true indications of form
11.99/-2.7 is 11.86 basic (and maybe slightly better than that, but the ballpark is not only not major league, but may not even be Triple-A -- hope the jargon does not lose the non-Americans).
Still the documentations suggests American athletes are doing the juice thing more than the Greeks. Dare to say the same thing about the `merican "heros" on this forum:)
How fast would Mo Greene be without his artificial help? 10.60?maybe?
Cheers.
I think you'll find I couldn't care less whether you're Greek, American or Zimbabwean...
Indeed, I think our dear old Greek duo might have been pushed down to second place by sweet innocent Chryste in my Ultimate Ten Drug Cheats To Despise...
Sorry, Michelle. Another podium you can't quite reach...

So far Mo's connections (those reveled) do not date from his hey day, and seem to indicate that he was not in the process of switching from one effective supplier to another, although that might well have been the case. I know some are for ex post 'tar and feathering' but not I.

Surely Michelle gets at least a bronze behing Regina's inevitable Gold?

I don't know what you're all talking about, at least Chyste, Regina and Collins never won anything of any significance. Thanou and Halkia on the other hand are both national heroes! I always get a sense of contentment when I think about Chryste pumping drugs and still ultimately being an also ran! Some times, Karma is sweet- othertimes it's not paying attention and you wind up an olympic champion in your own country beating two stelwarths, both of whom truly deserved the title- !

Well certainly the Americans have more "plea bargains" producing testimony against them from felons whose every word is taken as the gospel truth.
there's something about the completely blatant nature of Regina and Michelle that makes me dislike them so much. It boggles my mind that they thought they coud get away with it. I' ve never known two such obvious drug cheats. Even Thanou and KK pale in comparison.
Regina's sour face and Michelle's 5 o'clock shadow didn't help either.
I think Michelle and Ekaterini were my all time favourites...
Whilst Michelle & Regina were quite obvious, I think the Greek's constant "Oh she's injured but will try for the Champs anyway..." bleating is what got me. I hope this is the end of Ekaterini- seems hard to believe it was the last Olympics that we finally got rid of her...
Just thinking about European sprinting in general and in NO WAY INSINUATING ANYTHING, NO SIREE, I wonder if Nesterenko will be making an appearance to defend her title ?
One of my favourite female sprinters was from the 80s. Now, there was never any suspicion and she certainly never tested positive and has always strenuously denied any PED use so I will naturally name no names. However, the lady had a moustache ...

She's actually on the start-lists for Oslo along with Kim Gevaert, Sheri-Ann Brooks and...Merlene Ottey!!
