Rupp returning

Postby sl » Fri Apr 18, 2003 12:59 pm

You may have noticed one prominent name missing from the deep-deep Arcadia 3200: Nike Indoor 2-mile 3rd-placer Galen Rupp (Central Catholic, Portland, Or). A junior, as a soph Rupp placed 3rd in the USATF Jr 5000 (14:34.05). Rupp is coached by Alberto Salazar.

Dave Frank, Central Catholic's head boys track coach, emailed today and mentioned where Rupp's been:

"Thursday was also the return of junior star Galen Rupp, who had missed a couple of weeks with a sore calf. Today Galen looked a bit ragged but still managed 4:05.1 for 1500m, and a nice victory."
