yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRI guess someone likes the inclement weather at Mt. SAC -- Fleshman 15:23.94 for 2nd in the 5k, lots of other blazing times... can't wait to see the rest!
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRYeah, but what's with the overcrowded fields? 40 guys in the Invitational 5000? That's a bit much. The 4 DNFs were probably trampled.
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRyikes! good to see. she has a plan that seems to be grounded in reality and is sticking to it.

>Mt. SAC -- Fleshman 15:23.94 for 2nd in the 5k, >lots of other blazing times... can't wait to see >the rest!>> After so many years of hearing about great distance runs "despite the bad weather," I have to guess that cold and wet are actually GOOD for distance runners. Does that make any sense?
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRI guess the "collegiate record" has to be outdoors, but remember that Sonia O'Sullivan ran faster indoors. Here's the all-time collegiate top-3:
15:17.28i Sonia O’Sullivan' (Vill) 1/27/91 15:23.03 Kathy Hayes (Or) 5/ 4/85 15:23.94 Lauren Fleshman (Stan) 4/17/03

Yes, up to a point. Seems like cold and dry would be ideal... Sopping wet and splashing through deep puddles, like Radcliffe at the Euro Champs last year, is not ideal.
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRKeep an eye on 6th-placer Missy Buttry, the Div.III X-C Champ from Wartburg, who ran 15:37.48, just behind Molly Huddle.
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRCan someone please tell me why this meet isn't televised? I'd sure love to see it. And I'm guessing people outside of Texas and Iowa would love to see the Texas and Drake Relays, as well.
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRI wish ESPN2 would pickup the Mt Sac Relays. Then we could watch it again after we get home. FYI this year the USATF Indoors in Boston was webcast for $10.
...randy
Re: yowza! Fleshman just misses 5k CRHuddle whacked 14 seconds + off the AJR, too!
