Has he ever been? He 'n Barry Manilow're 2 peas in a pod as far as I'm concerned. I was nonplused during the recent NPR segment where they discused the phenomenon at the Boston Red Sox games where the whole crowd does a sing-along to one of his little ditties. I get the creeps just thinkin' about it!

the list of people who like both jimi hendrix and barry manilow is short. i am on that list. watched a recent concert of barley man-enough's and it was just great music. great melodies and sang his ass off. is it sugary pop? yes, but someone of the best mindless syrup your gonna find.

The guy helped produce Mellow Gold which was Beck's first album with the hit Loser. Pretty obvious what the inspiration of it was. Reasonably little known fact but I'm sure of interest to at least squack. Really should read those lyrics.

Me too...but I like loud and stupid guitar as well as sappy, hit me with a wet noodle tunes. Hey, it's almost time to pull out my Carpenter's Christmas (vinyl) album.

When will Neil Diamond become listenable? When they remix his oldies in mono instead of pseudo-stereo which sounds like carp over the headphones. BTW, The Monkees version of his song, "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You" is on my desert island list. 8)

I've seen both of these bands (and quite a few more). The Dino Jr. concert was at the U of Kansas about 12-13 years ago. It was great, but I remember thinking that I was double the age of the next oldest person there! Is anyone a Bad Brains fan? They were my favorite live band of all time--unfreaking believable.

Just started listening to the new Cream CD of the London concerts...seems very good... Now that's a band I wish I'd seen in either 1967 OR 2005...

saw them in 67 for $3.50. an old friend asked if i wanted to go down to the city (ny) to see cream last week and buy some scalped tickets for $ 500.00 ? no!
