Hero here!An American Icon
![]()
Probably not an isolated thing, but here in Indy there is a public elementary school named after her. Today, they had a special ceremony, with the whole school watching, where they planted a tree out front as a memorial to her.
For anyone interested in history the Ford car museum in Detroit has the very bus in which she made her protest. You can sit in the bus and they have a quide who tells her story.
I'm not really into cars but Fords museum is unbelieveably good. And it's not just cars, they have trains, planes, helicopters, old electric turbines and generators, mock old style streets and shops as well as old household appliances. If you want to feel old it is the place to go. For quite a few of their exhibits I had first hand knowledge.
THE BUSThe first image on my T.V. Screen yesterday was 'The Bus" and I knew even before the rest of the story was aired.......
