Revered in this part of the world as the greatest sports announcer of all time (regional bias rears its head!)

I used to listen to him and Ken Korach all the time. They reminded me a lot of the cricket commentators with their layed back style. They really brought the games to life. From reading the articles he obviously did a lot more than baseball too!

The link above has a couple of plays he called. Below is the javascript for the Tejada home run in 03 for his 200th hit of the season.

javascript:void(playMedia2({w_id:'455721',w:'/2005/open/teams05/oak/
audio/092603_king_tejada_hr.wma',pid:%20'gen_audio',cid:%20'mlb',
fid:%20'gen_audio12',v:'2'}))

Bill King and Lon Simmons... great Oakland A:s broadcast combination back in the 80s... Bash Brothers-Lansford-Stewart-Eck days. And with that, folks, dies AM radio.

Sorry to ask the question on this thread but I thought the new board was supposed to stop the long link problem or do you have to physically split it up?

Long http urls seem to break and work just fine. Daisy's java script link is another matter. The parsing algorithm seems to be keying in on the independent http:// and whatever follows, which the java script link did not have.

Wasn't the thread already going to the right with gh's links? I am going to start a thread with a long Toronto Star link and see what happens.
