Peanut Butter: Crunchy or Smooth

Postby bad hammy » Sun Oct 16, 2005 6:17 am

OK, a bit bored and I just had PB (Adams Crunchy Unsalted) for breakfast (mrs. bad hammy left yesterday for three weeks so I am reverting to cro-magnon status).

Salt will kill you. Give the unsalted a chance. Been using it for 30 years. It is good . . . . .

Let's get this straight: the word "fresh" has no place in the descripton of PB. Nor does any excusion of salt. You turkeys are confusing crushed peanuts with PEANUT BUTTER, the proper definition of which is thereof:

<<Roasted peanuts, sugar, partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (rapeseed, cottonseed and soybean) to prevent separation, salt.

That's how one makes right and proper Skippy Super Chunk!

Anyone who eats PB that has any ingredients other than peanuts (and maybe salt, for those who cannot live without) is nuts (pun intended). All that other crap is trans-fatty nonsense.

Don’t like the oil separation of real PB?? Here is what you do:

Buy one jar of real (only peanuts and salt if necessary) PB (Adams is best, but your mileage may vary).

Take it home and put it upside down on the shelf for a few days to allow the oil to move towards the bottom of the jar.

Open jar, and use standard table knife to stir the oil into the PB.

Use, and put remainder in refrigerator. The oil will not separate when cooled.

Use as required.

Skippy and the rest of those fake PBs are crap . . .

I think what she meant by fresh was that she makes it herself. It's pretty easy-just throw all that stuff gh talks about in a blender and stir it up.

I meant I have been to grocery stores where they have a machine with peanuts (or almonds) and you press a button and it grinds it right there. You put a container underneath and decide how much you want.

Was the peanut butter they found on "Lost" crunchy or smooth?
