My wife and I were going nuts - what a finish!! Matt Leinart for President!! I ALMOST felt bad for Notre Dame.

We were at the Duck-Husky game and watched the end of the USC game on the tv. WOW!!!!!!!
The end of the Wisconsin - Minnesota game was great too.

Here's a chance for the poll voters to show they actually understand what they saw. If USC is No. 1, then Notre Dame (which I hate with a passion, so this is no sob-sister statement) should move UP in the rankings, not down. Unfortunately, most of hte morons who vote seem to see it as some kind of rating of won-loss records, rather than how good the teams look.

If I were a voter, not only would I move ND up, if had been votign USC before, I'd probably switch to Texas as No. 1 at this point.

I was actually thinking the same thing. The voters will only see the game as a loss for ND, and a win for SC, not the fact that SC would have lost if Matt had NOT fumbled the ball! Very strange!

I watched the game and loved it. Such competitive tension. I could barely stand it.

But one thing that came across, especially in the play where the ball was knocked out of bounds when the QB tried his first sneak, is that in game like football and basketball, a lot of luck is involved.

That is why I like track, in which very little luck of that sort (i. e., that's the way the ball bounces) comes into play.

I am neither a Notre Dame or USC fan so I can say with complete objectivity that Notre Dame deserved to win that game.
