Gotta Get a Life . . .

Now that we can see who is on the forum with us, I noticed that at 1:10 in the afternoon here (PDT) that I am the only person on earth looking at these T&FN forums.

I really don't want to know what this means.

It means you probably gotta stretch out that hammy.

I always have a computer on out of the 5 that I own and I just stay logged in. I am temporarily on a dial up right now at a place with only one phone line so I have to get off once in a while. Doesn't happen much though. Doesn't mean I am looking at it. At 4:10 I was off.

Basically I am killing an hour or so watching the Indy Colts spank the local 49ers, wanting to see if this new kid first round pick QB Alex Smith has any game (near the end of the first quarter, the answer is 'it looks like it, but the Niners still suck').

Gonna go for a workout (60 minutes on the elliptical, 60 more on the weight machines, finishing with a good stretch of the hammy) starting at halftime.

I leave stuff in the tray all day, so I guess I am the 'hidden' person here. Almost got up the nerve to go the Jaguars game tonight (8:30pm ET - ESPN Sunday night game), but wouldn't get home till midnight:30, and then I wouldn't get my Beauty Sleep. Got stung by a bee IN my nose cleaning up around the backyard - took Benedryl, now I'm a Space Cadet and can't go run. :(

I want to look at the m800 ratings later while the Mrs. watches 'Desp Hwives'. If I can make heads or tails of it, I'll post it later - I know you're anxiosly awaiting THAT!

Ouch - that's gotta hurt!

I spent time in the yard today spraying a Swedish product (Plantskydd) that is basically cow/pig blood and vegetable oil around the perimeter of our newly re-landscaped yard (not quite up to Marion Jones standards, but we did pay the landscape folks), along with selected plants, to keep the deer out. It is supposed to be the best thing out there, and work for months. We’ll find out. In any event, I’ve got the smell of blood in my nose, which I will take any day over a bee sting.

I put the Niners on TiVo and switched over to the Atlanta/Houston game, tied 6-6 in the 13th. Houston came back with 5 runs in the eighth and ninth to tie, so there will be some happy fans in Houston if they can pull this out.

Apropos of nothing but this seems to be the place to put it. In WNY for the Canuck Thanksgiving and my wife did a beer(she finally announced that she is going to stop drinking this US slop) run on Thursday(pretending that it is the US holiday) and they proofed her at the grocery store. She was delighted.

Top of the 15th, Roger Clemens is warming up for his second relief appearance of his career.

So, in the bottom of the 15th, Clemens, who has not yet thrown a pitch, gets an at-bat with a guy on first and lays down a perfect sacrifice. This is great, weird stuff . . .

Top of the 16th, three up, three down, 2 Ks for Clemens. I love this stuff. (Although my workout window is shrinking.)

How is that work-out going, bad hammy? Buffalo is back in the thick of the AFC east after benching the "future of the team" today.

Hey, I was only the fourth to respond!

MJD

The workout window is pretty much closed, but I take a long range view of the whole working out thing. Since I cannot run (and therefore compete), working out is basically a part of the 'growing old gracefully' plan. A missed day here and there will not make a difference.

I was refering to the 4 posts in a row by you. If your the only one on isn't strange to keep replying to yourself. :? Although, I too find it a more agreeable conversation when no one else is in the room.

I suspect most will go hidden if that doesn't get sorted out. It works here:

Once during a workout in Toronto, I was running repeat 300s when I managed to scoop a bee out of the air with the inside of my shoe (next to my ankle). Needless to say, the workout ended at that point...

Those in the Bay with an eye for the truly exciting were outside watching the Blue Angels and company. Their show with the backdrop of the Golden Gate, Alcatraz, etc., is a treat not to be missed.

Yeah, a few minutes later I went out to the message board menu screen and saw that I was the only registered user, but that there were four 'hidden' users. (Previous to starting this thread I had just switched from forum to forum and saw that I was the only one listed at the top of each.)

But I figured, why let the truth get in the way of a good post.

Having a little trouble reconciling(that is what I do after all) the above with the fact that I was in the bank today getting travellers cheques and the teller asked me if I was above 60 so I could get them for free. Some conclusion should be drawn from all of this but I'm just not sure what it is.

Any race that requires more than one lap is, by definition, redundant. Once you've been there and done that, i.e., run a lap, it's time to step off the track and try something new. Hurdle, jump, throw - ANYTHING but keep turning left!

Rachid Ramzi, 2005 World Championships 1,500m semi-final (I believe), classic example. That was the most bizarre "right" turn off the curve that I have ever seen!
