Why?? The info we get from the talking heads and reporters on TV news obviously is far weaker than print coverage, but oftentimes the video speaks volumes that cannot be said in print.

Well, I did qualify my statement with 'oftentimes'. Admittedly ongoing 'cane coverage is pointless.

And the web often has excellent video clips if it's worth viewing.

Web video at its best sucks compared to the same video on TV. However, you do get much more access and control on the web.

I never listen to radio - way too many commercials with no TiVo to help out. Web news is essential the same as print news to me, to the point that I consider them the same. Well, except for the crappy video available on the web. I use web news daily, along with newspapers, mags and TV.

I'm just a product of my times: no TV until I was in junior high, no TV allowed on in the house until after dinner, so even in the golden years of Cronkite, Huntley, Brinkley et al., never got into the habit of watching.

So you do watch news! This is the best news show on TV, bar none. And there are many, many bits of news stories that I see here and nowhere else. Oh yeah, it is way funny, too . . .

I was subjected to similar house rules until I was probably 12 or 13-very controlled TV watching-The Nutcracker Ballet would have been permitted-it didn't take-missed the golden years of Laugh In for example. Did A LOT of reading.

OK, I saw this on the TiVo'd local evening news here. Quite humorous. The idea of keeping a bunch of news folks out in the weather is great for the powers that be in the news industry, but a camera looking out a window would convey pretty much the same info.
