In response to the threads that basically took Desert Island Discs and put them on the TFN boards, I have decided to start a third thread. Here is the question:
Suppose you were marooned on a desert island, and there was a 6-cinema multiplex on the island. What 6 films would you put in the theater?

that is a very unAmerican question! Without the popcorn sales, the theater chain goes bankrupt, the entire ecomomy is dragged down, and suddenly we're in the midst of a world-wide depression that exceeds even the 1930s! Do YOU want to be responsible for global financial ruin?

Yes, popcorn sales are what keeps the movie theaters in business, just as print cartridges is what makes HP profitable.

I found a site that listed the top 10 in the UK survey (in reverse order, I'm too lazy to re-order them):

While I think that we can probably agree that most of these are fine, if not great films, the list seems a bit whack. I haven't even seen three of these films (His Girl Friday, Tokyo Story, and get ready geeks - Lord of the Rings - couldn't care less). Of the rest, only two deserve to be on the Greatest Movies of All Time list. Fight Club - fine film (being a Pulp Fiction fan, you gotta figure I'd like this film) but fourth best movie of all time??
