old shoes

Does anyone know of a place that will take old running shoes to be used by someone? I have quite a few pairs, some with only a few hundred miles on them, some with more. Even a few pairs of spikes.
I have been hanging onto them mostly for sentimental reasons, or to just wear around but not for running. I would be willing to part with them if someone would put them to use.

I live in San Diego. At least once every few years we (several people I know) have a party. We supply the food and beverage. The only thing we ask from anyone who attends is to bring an old pair of shoes. They're collected and brought to Mexico (mostly) and given to family's (usally through a church) to anyone who needs and can use them.
