Hammer, Murofushileichtathletik.de reported yesterday about an impressive early series of Japanese hammer thrower Koji Murofushi. Apparantly, all six of his throws were over 80 meters, with 82,36 the furthest (81,06/81,49/81,66/80,29/80,69). That's only about a meter under last years best world mark. I've liked Murofushi for some time now, this may become his break through year...
Re: Hammer, MurofushiThe mark was a world leader. More info available in Track Newsletter later today (4/30), which will be e-mailed free to all T&FN subscribers who've signed up for it.
Re: Hammer, MurofushiI remember reading about Karl-Hans Riehm, West Germany, throwing the hammer in a meet 6 times- and 6 times he broke the world record at the time.....like 252 feet or something!
Amazing to see human potential and development and surpassing previous achivements.
Re: Hammer, MurofushiYes, Karl-Hans Riehm of West Germany in Rehlingen, May 19, 1975. WR at the time was 76.66.
He threw 76.70 WR, 77.56 WR, 77.10, 78.50 WR, 77.16, 77.28.
