Re: Most knowledgable T&F afficionadosYou know I can't reveal my sources. Its protected under the constitution.
I was considered the "go-to" knowledge/trivia guy on my college track/cross country team (athletes and coaches) and for anything distance (800m on up) with a specialty in the Marathon. Can probably give you some "very good" specialist but I want to know what your going to use it for first.

Re: Most knowledgable T&F afficionadosA guy with whom I was on the Daily Bruin sports writing staff at UCLA around 1982-83 named Tom Feuer is the most knowledgeable track expert I've ever known. In recent years, he's done color commentary on Fox Sports coverage of the Pac-10 and Big-12 meets. If you're out there, Tom, send me an e-mail (by clicking where my name is highlighted).

Re: Most knowledgable T&F afficionadosI think Garry Hill belongs up there; good grief!
What about Frank Z. for the deca? How about Roberto Q.?
Re: Most knowledgable T&F afficionadosRLQ is THE authority. He is merely the author of six books on the history of T&F (and maybe more, if I'm missing something). Also the founder of the ATFS.
Are the McWhirters still around? They published a few books with the Guinness people.
Re: Most knowledgable T&F afficionadosProbably one of the most knowledgeable about track and field on this planet is a man who has been to every outdoor world championship in our sport and also 14 Olympic Games. He not only started the greatest magazine about athletics (TFN), but he also has written books about the sport. Even though he turns 85 next month, Cordner Nelson remains one of the most knowledgeable people in track and field today.
Re: Most knowledgable T&F afficionadosOne of the most knowledgeable experts on T&F is Ian Hodge. Many years ago I remember someone asking him - what's your speciality. The reply came back "Anything that moves".
