Obama - Chicago - 2016

I'm not sure why this thread got locked away on the FS board, but I like this excerpt in today's USA Today:

All politics is local, and the Olympics are all about politics, which is why Barack Obama's victory in the 2008 presidential election just might have ensured that the 2016 Summer Games will be held in Chicago. All he has to do is promise the International Olympic Committee a pre-opening ceremony tailgate, and the Games are Chicago's. It seriously might not take much more than that. If Obama shows up, swooning IOC members might not be able to control themselves and might find themselves doing what they often are loath to do: vote for the USA, in anything. If Obama so much as sneezes in the IOC's direction, with the way Europe has embraced the president-elect, the battle over the 2016 Games could be over long before the networks call the Minnesota Senate race.
