openly gay and lesbian athletes?


Normally open July 4th only---the one day a year when partisan politics, religion, etc. are acceptable topics on this Board (within reason). The forum is now closed.

Not about any athletes, but loosely connected with athletics - the Helsinki Gay Pride festival took place last week at the same time as the Euros, with the climax being people congregating in Senate Square and walking to Hesperia Park in the afternoon before the athletics started. My parents were in the city with me (though not at the games) and witnessed it.

Not really - they said it was peaceful and not many police were needed.

In London that'd bring the city to a standstill!

The parade has been cancelled as they have no money and the headline act is Deborah Cox who no one in UK has ever heard of

If we're thinking of the same one, I wouldn't be surprised either way - he seems to think that keeping people guessing lends him some mystique (a bit lame - Bowie and others did that in the 70s).

I agree with you about him though. Verily, he offendeth not mine eye.
