the Sundance Channel

A place for the discussion of all things not closely related to the sport and its competitive side. (as always, locked for the duration of major international championship)

the Sundance Channel

one of 100s on my cable box, 95% of which I never even surf across.

But a cross-commercial promo on some other channel (or maybe it was a plug on IMDB) led me to seek it out and download the first season (all 6 episodes) of Rectify and the 7 episodes of the mini-series Top Of The Lake.

Just started both, absolutely loving them.

The first is an ex-con drama basically devoid of anybody you'd ever remember seeing, the second is a cop mystery by Jane Campion that I find rather evocative of The Killing (U.S. version), with perhaps a touch of David Lynch.

gh-bob says check it out.

A big touch of Lynch. Hunter and her pack of neurotic babes a definite waste of time, and frankly the wrap up is just a tad speeded up, (but we do get to find out that Moss didn't pass out on wine, a few episodes earlier)
