Goodfellas

Postby DrJay » Thu Apr 11, 2013 4:20 pm

An irrelevant thread, but I was looking at the IMDB parental guidance info for "Goodfellas" and the "F" word makes an appearance 296 times (mostly by Joe Pesci as Tommy, usually in bursts of a dozen or so) or slightly more than twice a minute. My daughter wouldn't care to watch it and my 13 yo son would think it's cool and isn't the type to be sent on some warped rage by the violence, profanity, etc, so I was just going through the motions. Great movie, love that it's on cable a lot.

Watch on DVD with the audio commentary by the real Henry Hill and the FBI guy who worked with Hill in WP. Fascinating. The Joe Pesci character, Tommy, really was a scary guy.

One of the few movies I can watch fairly often.

A young Christopher Imperioli (as Spider): "Why don’t you go fuck yourself, Tommy?"

(which doesn't turn out too well for poor old Spider)

Yes, telling a psychopath to go f himself is not smart. But as I wrote, the guy apparently was really like that. Hill mentions that he was scared all the time. A great life.
