Not a good day, 7 wins and 9 losses for a 2-day total of 18 wins / 14 losses. Somehow, I still have a highly theoretical possibility of having 14 teams in the Sweet Sixteen, having lost only Georgetown and Kansas State. At this point, I will gladly settle for a Terrific Ten!
<<I immediately regret picking Wisconsin to the Final Four in ALL of my brackets. No longer interested in the NCAA tournament. #tragic.>>
I have not lost all interest, because I really like college basketball, but dang K-State losing (after Mississippi had gotten rid of our nemesis Wisconsin) sure took the wind out of my sails yesterday.
1. Florida Gulf Coast became the first No. 15 seed to reach the Sweet 16. No. 15 seeds were previously 0-6 in the Round of 32, with the average loss being by 15 points.
2. La Salle and Florida Gulf Coast both made the Sweet 16. This is the first time ever that two teams seeded 13 or lower are in the Sweet 16. Add No. 12 seed Oregon and this marks the first time that three teams seeded No. 12 or lower are in the Sweet 16.
Some things about FGCU. One of them is their coach is a self made multi millionaire and holds the NCAAIII free throw record (.925) and missed only 25 free throws in his career!!!!! Which by my math doesn't mean a lot of free throws? Like 313 or something?

I share your grief...Whoever thought it was a good idea to try and pick the winners in this tournament ? (: ?
Earlier we had a thread titled something like "best team in college basketball?" and on February 27 I posted <<d, none of the above (above = all NCAA teams), meaning that this year's bracketology is going to be wild-wild-wild.>>
The only solace I can take from losing Indiana and Miami last night is that I s uspect nearly everybody else did too. The not-so-good is that I had Indiana as my winner, so I guess I don't need to watch any more hoops this year
Feelin' real good after Duke's win over Michigan State. I was too cheap to buy a ticket, here in my home town, but TV gave me a satisfactory viewing experience.
Dunno about Louisville. They are good. Win or lose Duke's had a great year.
Final note... saw a hilarious shirt yesterday... entering the local pizza palace, wearing my Duke sweat shirt to fly the flag, I encountered a guy wearing a Kentucky blue sweatshirt, and emblazoned on it in large capital letters was " I STILL HATE LAETTNER." We then had a good laugh together. Gotta love it !
The Orange zone is quite effective though not what I'd call particularly aggressive. Since there really isn't much game planning for it and the Bb IQ for attacking it really doesn't exist in the 2013 player I think Sy is in pretty good position next week.
Which may be the NCAA's least fav scenario should they have some serious stuff to lay on SU after the season. Syr F J. Southerland's sister Sabrina (2:03.5i) supposedly will name her future U' after the tourny (though she knows now).

I can verify that is truly the sentiment, 21 years later, as my Mom is a UK alum. If they had any damn pride, they'd just shut up and act like it doesn't bother them. I think there's too much sense of entitlement among UK hoops fans, like Adolph Rupp invented the sport or something.
