Lydia Ko - With Jacko, NZ's other young sporting freak

15 year old Lydia Ko of New Zealand, the world's number 1 amateur golder wins the LPGA Canadian women's gold open against all the top professionals. Youngest ever winner of an LPGA event. First amateur winner of an LPGA event for 43 years. Last year at 14 years youngest ever winner of a professional tournament. World #1 amateur since age of 13.

Before today ranked #185 in the world including professionals because her points have to be divided by the minimum of 35 tournaments but she had only played 9. After today she will be close to the top 50 on that basis. However, if her points were divided just ye her 10 tournaments she would likely be ranked 2nd or 3rd.

It will an interesting choice for NZ's annual Murray Halberg Sports Person of the years awards. Who gets the Sports Womanofthe year. Valerie Adams, Lydia Ko or Lisa Carrington (Olympic canoe champion).
