Sooo, Lolo is at it again. I commended her a few weeks ago for standing up against the media, but she really isn't helping her cause. She responded to what Kellie Wells & Dawn Harper said about her with:
“Yeah, that was kind of a shocker. I didn’t see that one coming at all. I kind of understand their frustration I guess because they feel like they don’t have media or photo shoots or any of that off the track stuff that they might want. But from my end of it if I had a medal, that’s all I would need.”
But, she continued on:
“I’m not running track to be the most famous person. If I wanted to do that I would totally do a Kim Kardashian or Snookie. I’d do a sex tape or something like that if I wanted fame."
Who wants to see a sex tape with a "so called virgin". Lolo is still trying to remain relevant especially since she didnt get a medal. How much lower can you go Lolo.

What's the expression? Keeping up with the Jones's? You've got to know what the Jones's are doing in order to keep up with them. Lolo's doing her part. She's not the first Jones media magnet. For better or worse, her predecessor discovered a way to stay fresh and relevant off the track, too.

You should blame the media who hangs on her every word, reports her every tweet and is constantly looking for excuses to put her on TV.
The media forces her to respond to them?
If there's any "blame" here it's the idiots who take the time to read things about her and then complain because she's boring. If she turns you off, simply ignore such pieces.

I'm a Lolo fan who lives in Baton Rouge, but the next tweet by her that I read will be the first. I simply don't have time to keep up with her celebrity and all the tabloid stories about her. What's amazing is that I know less about her non-track related activities than the folks on this board who hate her.
Again, Lolo is looking out for herself and don't be surprised if sometime down the road, she has a reality "dating a virgin" show, book deal, etc. Lolo ain't no fool and she knows exactly what she is doing. She knew exactly what the reaction would be when she announced she was a virgin.
This comes under the banner of "SEX SELLS"!! I was a college journalism major, and one of my classes was in advertising. Just about EVERY ad has some sexual image in it....either overt or covert.
Then you have today's so called "LameStream Media", which looks for the dirty, the sexy, the controversial......in EVERYTHING!!
So Lolo, whom I find completely INNOCENT in this, says that if she wanted more fame, she'd do a sex tape, like the Kardashians have done!!
She was GIVING AN EXAMPLE of something that would make her even MORE famous than she is. This was not even the most important part of her reply. The most important part was that winning a medal at the Olympics is what she WANTS, not fame through making a sex tape!!
So if you want to blame anyone, or ridicule anyone, or make nasty remarks against someone, make them against the REAL culprit.......the MEDIA!!!

Actually, I don't think she did. She should have known based on how polarizing Tim Tebow is, but I think she was genuinely blindsided, as her interview with Lewis Johnson after her 1st-round Olympic heat indicated. She wasn't acting, she really did have steam coming out of her ears.

Two things really surprise me as a read this thread. First, it is amazing Lolo's straightforward and probably uncalculated comments can spur so much polarizing commentary. Second, it is stunning to learn arronk -- king of multiple exclamation points, extra-long elipses and all-caps for emphasis -- was a journalism major......!!!!! I'm having fun. I don't hate her, not one bit. But I sure feel sad to see her evolve toward the Bruce Jenner of Women's Track.
