here is an interesting (old ) story, which seems to debunk the alleged current wr for a great white of 23 feet 5 inches:

This attack was most likely by bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) rather than by great whites which are very solitary beasts. The beach where she was injured was is a lovely spot and I'd be quite happy to fly there and swim tomorrow.

The relative risk is so low, it's not worth bothering about even if you do have a fevered imagination

I can see it now, chariots fire, running on the beach.....

Did anyone else see trials of life where the killer whales were grabbing the seals off the beach. Probably the most dramatic piece of TV i have ever witnessed?

"We're gonna need a bigger boat."

if you saw it, can you clarify a point:

another quote was: " it's a 20 footer..., 25 "

did the quote go upto 30 feet ?

They had a GW wash up in Port Elizabeth, claimed it to be around 8m but in reality it was around 6. It had a whole seal inside it. There was also a 1000lb Bull shark that washed up, had a whole side of beef in it and canned food!
