A place for the discussion of all things not closely related to the sport and its competitive side. (Locked down several times a year during the major championships)
I vote Ben Johnson as the greater cheat.. he took unfair advantage over clean athletes whose livlihood and career were on the line and could not be "lipsynched" by someone else
I could not tell "millit' from "vinilli".. I just remember hearing about the "scandal" but if their audience was mesmerized by their presence and satisfied with the sounds they were presumably making, wheres the harm?
When you hear a CD or record, you do not know who is actually making the noise.

If a track audience is mesmerized by a cheat:s presence and satisfied with the performances the cheat made, where:s the harm?

We are talking apples and oranges here.. There is real harm to his clean competitors in the cheater's track performance ... I just can't see how the listener suffers regardless of who makes the music he is hearing..

'Zackly. Their music was pretty awful.
I voted for Ben Johnson. Show business is all about illusion anyway, plus there was no real harm done to anyone by MV pretending to sing, while athletes who take drugs do take money and glory away from those who don't.
