You left out "None of the above" and/or "Other". Like, I'm sure, several others, my choices don't fall cleanly into any of those.

If I gotta choose only one, it'd be Beethoven. All Beethoven - all the time. And no, that ain't classical as that'd include such lightweights as Mozart 'n the bunch.

But if I could mix 'n match, I'd halfta have American Traditional as a category. I don't mean country. Yuck! I mean traditional hillbilly music, cajun music, etc. Stuff that's just always been. I guess it's kinda folk, but not to be confused with the gawdawful stuff from the '60s. Examples're The Carter Family, Jimmy Rodgers, etc. up to and including Hank Williams 'n Bob Wills (but usually dating from the '20-'30s, though contemparies like Iris Dement 'n Emmylou Harris 'n that ilk do a nice job of keepin' it alive. Don't fence me in!

ex rocker with thin lizzy who has in the last 15 years rediscovered his roots. plays mostly a big fat les paul as i do. plays blues with a rock energy which the purist hate but i dig it.

I'm the one jazz guy so far (the Country and Pop folks have got to get an island in another ocean; the Rock and Blues folks can be in the same island chain with me).

I need to qualify my pick with the fact that it cannot be just any 'jazz'. It must be:

Anything from Louis prior to 1930.

Anything from Miles and/or Trane prior to 1963.

Anything from Duke, Count, Thelonius, Brubeck, Oscar, Diz, Charlie, Wes, Stan, MJQ, Gerry and most of Francis Albert.

Pretty much anything recorded in the '50s.

Uh ohh...new music forum to monopolize cman's free time.

Pelle 3 would have to include loud and stoopid guitar music ranging from rockabilly, electrical blues and early 80's heavy metal. R and H (Rogers and Hart/Hammerstein) recordings would be a must as well as a copy of "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) by Edison Lighthouse.
