This one's for eldrickHere in wisconsin they have a few good links-like courses on Lake Michigan. Why don't they use such courses for the U.S. open instead of the target golf crap we always see?

they use them for the uspga, which is still a major they used a great course - whistling straits, last year ( it was built by the king of toilets in the US ( toilet magnate ) , who i believe was in plans to buy the old course hotel at st. andrews ) it was a magnificent course, something like 7400 - 7500y long, but the guyz still destroyed it with 8 or 9 under par at the end , with a 3 man play-off between singh, leonard ( short hitter ) & dimarco problem was there was little wind to protect it & even huge yardage was no defense - it probably needs a little narrower fairways to get it down to -3 or -4 winning total it's coming back for the pga in a few years, but will need to be toughened up efore usga take the open there
