Do you have 1962-1965 T&FN for sale?

Postby aaronk » Tue Oct 22, 2013 11:56 pm

I used to own every issue of T&FN from 1957 through the present, but sold all my pre-2000 issues a few years ago, because I needed the money then.
I wish to buy the full years of 1962 through 1965.
I don't care if the issues are singles, or in Bound Volumes.

But I want EVERY issue, and they must be in very good to excellent condition.

Please state price, for the total package....the magazines and the shipping costs.

If you have ONLY the 1962 (Jan to Dec) and the 1964 (Jan through Dec) years, I will consider your offer.
After 1962 and 1964.....my next most wanted years would be 1963, then 1965.

I like you have 1957 through the present, all professionally bound. I would be prepared to part with 1963, 1964, and 1965. What I did is take each year and have them professionally bound like a doctoral dissertation in a green hard cover with gold letters stating Track & Field New, 1963 on both the front cover and side binding. Each year was originally placed in a three ring binder and when I purchased them from the original owner the professional binders did a good job so that on the 1963 you can see the punch holes, but on 1964 and 1965 you might not even notice. Compared to the rest of the older years I have generally they are in good condition. 1965 might even be in excellent condition although I'm not exactly sure how to judge them.

Here are the only problems.
January, 1963, page 1 - there are three small cuts on the page.
January, 1963, page 2 - there are two small cuts on the page

February, 1963, page 21 - 3"x6" picture was removed

March, 1963, page 1 - 2"x2" picture removed

September, 1963, page 1 - 2"x2" picture removed
September, 1963, page 15 - 3"x1/2" picture removed

October, 1963, page 1 - 1"x2" picture removed

December, 1963, page 21 - 3"x3" picture removed

October/November, 1964, page 47 - 2"x2" section removed
In the 1964 bound volumes there are some yellowing of about 1/2 the pages, but they are easily readable.

The 1965 is in really nice shape.

If these three volumes interest you as they are then you can PM me and I can provide you with how much I have into the three volumes for purchase. I can send you pictures if you wish.

important thing to remember: if you're talking bound volumes as sold by T&FN back in the day, be apprised that since the first-ever issue was February, and they were sold by volume number, not calendar year, a "year" doesn't include the January of that year, but of the next one.

It took me years to convince the powers that be at the time, but that made me so crazy that I finally forced through a change in dating that brought the volume numbers into calendrical synch. Pretty sure that didn't happen before the '80s, maybe even '90s.

Right, GH, thanks!
I'm familiar with the Bound Volume set-up.
Of the '57 through present I owned, '57 through '61 and '67 through '72 were all Bound Volumes!!
