A Pair of Percy Williams' Shoes

Not really but made you look. What is the policy if stolen property is offered here?

"Police said yesterday that they recovered one of the most important relics in the history of Canadian track and field -- the shoes that sprinter Percy Williams wore when he set the world record for the 100-meter sprint in 1930."

A lot more here and I'm sure it will be full of factual errors:

"It's still unclear why the shoes were targeted, King added.

If profit was the motive, it's tough to put a price tag on the shoes' worth.

Walter Boshyk, owner of the Legends of the Game sports memorabilia store on King St., said it's nearly impossible to peg their value.

"I would say it's in the thousands, but they are such an obscure item that it's tough to be specific," he said.

"Items like these are often sold in auctions at places like Christie's (auction house in London).""

What's your family's connection to Percy Williams again gh?
