I was struck in the similarity of the purported facts between the Jones and Bonds cases (e.g., flaxseed oil, manipulations by others, BALCO ties), but the large disparity in the outcomes. T&F tries to clean up its act, gets pummeled in the PR game, and baseball jukes and skates and ends up with a new HR king....

Baseball is a joke. If they wanted to have a clean sport, they'd adopt the WADA rules and have year-round unannounced tests for all banned substances, and two-year penalties for first time steroid offenders. They haven't done that. They just don't care.

MLB welcomed Sosa and McGwire, and even the less-liked B2. Baseball is our U.S nat'l pastime, and was willing to look the other way. T & F is inconsequential to most Americans
(same reason NFL has so many unpunished juicers)
