It needs to be made. Although, I wish someone would make a film where they took athletes from everywhere, because we often treat the success of the DDR or the Chinese women as the result of drugs, when they had systems for isolating and developing talent.

Nothing remains of their [DDR] success? How about the WRs and OG Golds?
Criminal charges should still be brought against anyone who doped the 10-13 year-olds.

Germany's statute of limitations prevents further charges/lawsuits related to doping during the DDR era.

But the IOC and IAF can do what ever they want.

There is more, Germany has national coaches who were active during the GDR time, Rainer Pottel, Volker Beck and others and at least in the case of Pottel admitted to using PEDs. We also have officials who apparently think the 70s and 80s were times to be remembered, Marita Koch was recently honored as a role model for young athletes during the german junior championships.

What's wrong with honoring one of the greatest athletes in history?

Which they never follow! Witness the Lance Armstrong ruling - he declared his own guilt in January 2013, which should have kept his TdFs from 1999-2004 inviolate, but the decisions were that the statute of limitations did not apply in his case because he had been lying, so they took those away also.

Well, duh? Aren't all dopers who say they are not using lying about it? (To compete they have to sign a form saying they are not using PEDs - at least at the Olympics) I really think WADA and the IOC have no actual rules about a statute of limitations and will simply do whatever they wish and whatever is politically expedient for them to do.

I would love to see a translated version of this. There are such great stories to be told about the former GDR athletes.
