Eight Olympic Gold Medals

Postby DoubleRBar » Thu Sep 19, 2013 9:24 am

Happy birthday today (Thursday) to two Olympic champions with a total of eight Olympic gold medals.

One of these champions died at the age of 78 while the other died at the age of 71.

Only one of these athletes was born during an Olympic year.

The athlete that died at the age of 71 was a Pan American Games gold medalist.

Born on a Tuesday, this athlete also won an Olympic silver medal.

Of these two champions, only one died during an Olympic year.

On President Jimmy Carter's 83rd birthday, the athlete born during an Olympic year died.

This person was only 20 years old when winning the first of four Olympic gold medals.

President John F. Kennedy was murdered in 1963. On the 37th anniversary of that death, the athlete with an Olympic silver medal died.

If athlete "A" is the Pan American Games champion, then athlete "B" was the sixth child born.

Athlete "B" was born 14 years before athlete "A".

Winning Olympic gold at the age of 25, this champion was born on a Tuesday.

Both people set world records.

Name our birthday athletes for this Thursday in September.

I think that Emil Zatopek had 4 golds and a silver, so I guess him. Not sure of the other. Too tired to work through the dates and ages.

It is Emil Zatopek, mcgato. Very good. And, yes, KDFINE, the other man is Al Oerter. Of course, both men won four Olympic gold medals. Both set world records. Al Oerter was born during an Olympic year (1936) and Emil Zatopek died during an Olympic year (2000).

Nice job to you both, mcgato and KDFINE.
