Thomas Wessinhagelooking at some videos of the 80s - what a competitor. if only for two other runners, he/his name would likely be the 1500/miler of that decade. When he ran he always seemed to be 'right there'.

That was an amazing race, Wessinghage kept the pace high after the pacemaker dropped out, he was the main reason Ovett was able to break Coes WR. And Hudak in third place still ran below 3.32., he ran the race of his life, his next best time was over 3.36.

Re: Thomas Wessinhageyes - watched using your link. Great race. Ovett pretty dominant and under control Did he ever write a book about his running experiences - that would be an interesting read I would think but there was Wessinhage right in the mix where he very often was.
