Today, February 16, 2012 birthday celebrate four Olympic champion of both sexes.
If you add their ages, but today they celebrated with 164. Most adults are older than 14 years younger.
At 5 years older than the second, and 9 years older than the third.
If you add up their champion age, at the moment of victory they were 108 years old.
At the moment of victory is the youngest champion was younger than the oldest of 7 years.
The other two were older at first by 4 and 5 years.
They Won the Gold in three Olympics. Three of them won one Silver on other Game.
Three of them start competed in same Olympics. Two of them competed in three Olympics. Two for two Olympics.
Two of them won the same Olympic Games, which for them was the first. One won the third (home) Olympics. Last won his second Olympics.
One champion, who won the Olympics at the youngest age, was the first OG-winner in the history of his country.
The last champion was the oldest of four at the moment of victory. This champion was also the first for his country, and hopes to defend his title.
Who are these four champions?

PS The first attempt - maybe a little sloppy. I apologize in advance, but come up with a question would not otherwise happen. :?

3 of them: Fermin Cacho, Cathy Freeman, Tia Hellebaut?

(did this without looking)

The only 1992 champion born in 1964 that I remember didn't run in a previous Games was William Tanui, but I don't remember a subsequent silver. (Hellebaut is the champion without one, if it is indeed her.) Khalid Skah?

The first three correct answer, and our belated congratulations on their birthday!
Good job, andyjgt.

The 4th athlete should have been born 2 days earlier.

The fact that it was a difficult quiz doesn't make it any less fun, and the fact that no sprinters were included doesn't detract from its quality. For smoene operating in a foreign language it was pretty good - the only problem being the use of the word "his" when relating to Hellebaut
(Gennadiy you could avoid the gender confusion by phrasing it "this athlete hopes to win a second title"

Thank you for your comments.
What does it mean "the 4th athlete should have been born 2 days earlier".

I found it, but I cheated so I won't post the answer.

They were born on the 16th, though, Gennady was right about the birthday.

(The use of 'his' re Hellebaut confused me too first...)

I agree with your comments gentlemen.
But let's take a look at my text.
"This champion was also the first for his country, and hopes to defend his title."
What kind of noun "Champion"? Male or female?
If I wrote "her", then it would be a further clue.

My point is you can avoid his or her by saying "this champion was the first from that country to win a gold medal, and hopes to retain that title". Also 2 days before 16.2 in the West is St Valentine's day

Thank you again. I understand everything about the last champion, too.
