Actually, there is Brian, and that little bit of legality (to say nothing of common courtesy) is honored on this Board. Please don't do it again. And allow me also to suggest you lose your contentious tone and don't get into name-calling. Thanks.

hey, if I have violated any rule on the board. Lay it out. My tone is not subject to your review. Actually, as I am typing I am on a slip n slide, 95 degrees, and getting ready for arcadia.

Second, if you dont like the thread. Pretty simple. Don't read it.

That's pretty fair.

Just ignore my posts. Pretty simple rule.

Anyways, I am gone from the board Sunday at midnight.

So just ignore my posts til then and my posts will remain within the rules.

Tone this.

Now here is a man that appreciates Tombstone - maybe you can help me here with "the poster" that is so very offended of my opinions. You seem to get it, so pass this around and let's see what lands in the town of Bodie.

What other runners did I take a shot? Name the runner. First name, last name, events. Times, etc. The simple fact is that I don't hide behind board names. Fair for those that do. Fair for me that I do not. Makes a poster an easier target, but who cares. Just tell it like it is. Name the runner, name, lasrt name, events, times, etc.

Here are your rules cowboy and not one of my posts violate these rules. Even my posts on politics did not violate the rules.

-Randall Patrick MacMurphy

and PS:

You don't need to care what I think. That is the truth. There are millions out here online, and if I lose one of you that don't care there will be one that will. You don't speak for the world of track and either do I. Do, cool the ego, and don't read my posts. You will be more relaxed. If you continue to read Theriot posts, you will get frustrated, unnerved, edgy, you will write the mods, etc. But at the end of the day - believe me - I do not violate forum rules. I can be like a bad date though. So, instead of taking the date - move to another thread and be happy with your life.

And I really do not care. Just don't read the thread if you don't like the tone. It's sort of like not ordering a chocolate shake if you don't like chocolate. Or not running the 800 if you are a 100 man. Just don't do it.

I want to see the ban offense based on the rules?

tone? the rules don't mention tone?

ban me too

Theriot did nothing

anytime you meet a guy like theriot...everyone puts their black tie on and forget about

hard work
telling it like it is

what are we saying that track and field is in its best state
????

track and field is in its worst state as a revenue sport
as a div. 1 respected revenue sport
as providing american athletes with scholarships for each event

you want more?

we are just beginning....
theriot was gone at 12 today

the ban raised a whole bunch of new boys

Apparently his only "confirmed" friend is one David Mack, 800m phenom and crooked cop extraordinaire.

What is the point of these comments? None of you have any "confirmed" friends as far as I know, and by that I am not expressing skepticism regarding your capacities for friendship and the probability that you have friends, but I simply am not cognizant of this, so the above comment strikes me as ridiculous.

I'm not quite sure what he said that was so offensive. I did see the political comment which he appologized for and that was subsequently removed.

He is a little over the top promoting his kids but I don't see why it would be worthy of a ban or so much criticism.

Did I miss something?

Yes, he repeated challenged the board policies [excessive posting of copyrighted material and declining to remove such, attacking other posters, etc)and asked to be banned for violating them, gh finally responded (I had not seen gh's board input for a period of time before and am guessing that he finally go around to reading the board and this thread).

I guess I did miss that...its too bad he had to move in that aggressive direction. He may have made some good contibutions.

I guess he just has a hypercompetitive personality.

I will slow things down. BRIAN THERIOT has made it clear several times that David Mack is his good friend. The word "confirmed" in quotes was not meant to cause a stir. Nor was the word "only." I will choose my words more carefully next time.

Mr. Theriot, you are totally a legend. I've been running in the OC since 1971, and I remember the great ones. OC in the 1970s was definitely the Golden Age of high school track and field. I am surprised that the great Ralph Serna has not invited you to the Runners Re-United get togethers. It is a blast. Such luminaries as Curtis Beck, Mark Schilling, Robert Harrell, Tom Kovacich, Steve Scott, Thom Hunt... just to name a few, were in attendance. Great memories and war stories.

A similar onslaught to the RR group has prevented any welcome for him there. The OC and So Cal crowd is very familiar with the absurdness and predictability of disruption and wants no part of it. All of this is quite transparent and travels along with its originator. And its not new, nor improved.
