He was certainly excellent!! I think he was already past his best when he won Olympic Gold in the 200m in 1976. His injury in 1972 cost us an interesting clash with Valeri Borzov in those Olympics. I witnessed some stellar clashes in the early 70's between Quarrie and the unfortunate but also excellent Steve Williams.
