Somewhere on the site is an account of a chance meeting b/t me and Stanley Floyd. Fastest I've seen in person.
Edit: Found it...

I posted this earlier, but seeing Stanley Floyd work out at Tom Black Track in Knoxville is the most amazing thing I've seen in person. I've seen a lot of athletic events in person and on TV, but for some reason this stands out.
I was at UT walking back from class to my dorm and usually went by TBT. As I got near the track, I saw Floyd with neon yellow spikes run a 100 m full speed. Or it appeared to be. To be walking from class and seeing usual things and then to out of nowhere see a world class sprinter go down the track was incredible. The neon spikes he had appeared to form circles as he ran, just like in the cartoons. I didn't know who it was at the time, until I asked, but I knew this was not an average athlete here.
I had to go up and ask who he was. He told me he was Stanley Floyd, and I knew he was courting our beautiful Tennessee track star Delisa Walton at the time. After asking him, he handed me his stopwatch and asked me to time him on 10 m starts. I was shaking like a leaf and really started to sweat when his 10 m starts were not under 2 seconds, as he was trying to do. I finally said, "I'm sorry; I'm sure I'm doing this wrong." He said, "No, you're not. I have some work to do."
