If you go to the official NCAA list of Regionals qualifiers

And check out the vault, you'll see that there are already 123 qualified for the four meets (an average of 31). Figuring the West would have the most, I note there are already 40 (!!!) in the loop to vault at Stanford.

Do you know how long that's going to take to run off in a single pit with no qualifying round? Holysomethingorother!

This is why pole vaulters are the clowns and entertainers of the T&F world -- have to do something to amuse each other during all those hours of waiting around!
