Hopefully they will get the time right in the movie.

On a similar note: a recent ESPN Classic show on Jim Ryun appeared to show film of Bannister's first sub-4:00 mile. I was not aware that film was taken of that race. Does it exist, or did they cook film from the '54 Empire Games to look like the first sub-4:00?

Bannister's 3:59.4 at Oxford was most definitely filmed--every step of it, in fact. It's not hard to find...I believe that portions of it are on the Supermilers tape of the early '80s for example. The WR race that I've never seen any footage of at all, however, is Landy's 3:57.9. Does anyone know if THAT was filmed?

BBC footage of the entire race here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/low/dat ... 511575.stm

Thanks for posting that link. I never knew the race had been filmed. That was great to watch.
