Re: 2012 OG: wHT–75.68 in round 1 of qualifying for Włodarczyk
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–76m thrower Alena Matoshka of BLR out with only 67.03m. third round of Sophie Hitchon get 71.98m NR,
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Miankova is outside top 12 after 2 throws.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Interesting that Z Marghieva did start after her sister was removed for a drugs offence (and will qualify most likely).
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–I wonder, as with the WDT, will the top German here get pushed out of the medals by a Russian on the return? Lysenko certainly looks good.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–73.10 last throw... all three Americans and Khanafeyeva out.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Wlodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Eight auto qualifiers overall, guess that makes it a decent qualifying round.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Wlodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)I always believed in Miankova's case the most problematic part would be making it through the qualifying. Now that she's in, she may indeed be one of the favorites.
Then again, apart from Ostapchuk, the Belorussian throwers have been somewhat disappointing so far.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)At least one of our throwers came away with a world best (okay, for farthest non-qualifying throw ever. But hey, a record's a record)
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Lysenko, Włodarczyk and Zhang look the most dependable of the medal contenders. Heidler obviously has a good chance, too, but she's more likely to bomb out than those three. Miankova could be great or terrible.
I would think it's unlikely anyone outside the above five will medal, although Moreno and Klaas are likely to do well. Bespalova is sort of an unknown quality - I'm not expecting her to do that much, but she could also surprise.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)And BTW, 5-12 in qualifying were all best ever marks for places!
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Lysenko OR 77.56, probably not a perfect throw either (went right to the edge of sector)
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Top 3 over 76 meters already in the second round, and none of them is Heidler either.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)
PB for Klaas in 3rd; Heidler just stays in the competition as 8th.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Almost everyone throwing to the very left side of sector; Wlodarczyk threw a near-WR throw out of sector in the fourth round
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)That was over 77 meters from Heidler - why is it shown as 72.34? Or was that the fourth round foul
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)
Discussion among Heidler and officials following her fifth attempt; seems they measured wrong.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Re-measure you idiots.
There are not too many holes out there.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)A rethrow - what the hell
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)
No way... it's too big a throw. Almost a lock for silver.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)GET A MEASURING TAPE OUT OF THE CLOSET!
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)They need to let a her coach on the infield to deal with this and let her compete.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Use the replay and find the hole! Yikes!
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)They just stole silver from Heidler.
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)disgraceful...i can't believe it
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)What a farce.
Now I'm wondering about some of the slightly weird long jump and triple jump distances too And now Wlodarczyk threw almost the same distance - who gets silver even after protest?
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)
It's ridiculous. They now where it land from the TV. They can't rob her of a legit throw!! Is there any precedent for this?
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Robbery!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)i'm an american distance runner who is somewhat interested in the field events and I am so angry right now...
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Heidler was robbed!!!
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)Even if they somehow get the distance for that throw, all the discussions take so much from her. 77.30 in the fifth would have given her a boost for the last throw, but now i dont think she will be able to concentrate
Re: 2012 OG: wHT–Włodarczyk (Pol) leads Q at 248-3 (75.68)There's a hole in the ground–measure it.
Plus, that last one did not look like 78m... what the hell!?
