US Worlds Team Selection

I am curious. With all the debate about the nature of the 1500m pace at US champs etc.
And the wonder whether anyone can run the 3.34.90 A standard.
What happens if no runners who finished in the top 3 at the National run the qualifier. Does no one go?
What if a non top three finisher, then did the standard would they be allowed to go?

The winner goes alone if he has the B qualifier.

It should also be pointed out that if two or more of the people who ran the 1500 in Stanford achieve the A standard before entries close, we would send them even if they were not in the top three. There's hope for Webb yet! :-)
