after day one pappas leads the decathlon with 4691, a score only o' brien or huffins could match after day one. if he does a decent job tomorrow he will win and pr, if he does very well he will break 8800.

Deca PR's in LJ (26'1.5!!) and 400 (48.22) for a first day PR in points. He can get close to 8700.

He's got 8700+ potential easily now, especially if he runs faster than 5:00 like he did in Gotzis. He would have pred by a lot if he could have just run 4:45. For as good as an athlete he is, 5:00 is really very poor. But, now it looks like he'll be able to give Seberle a close competition.

dan o' brien and huffins used to be bad in the 1500 too, but it did not prevent them from winning medals
