Turn on ESPN Classic - right now!

If this message is less than an hour old, turn on ESPN Classic -- they are showing a mid-Seventies US/USSR dual meet!

I think they might be replaying it later in the week. Check the listings.

Well, shoot -- as soon as I posted that, they switched to showing a 70s boxing match with Muhammad Ali doing the commentary.

I tape the show every day, and then go back and watch it. It's "Classic Sports Spectacular", where they find some theme and put together various clips. Today it was "Behind the Iron Curtain", and they went back and forth between the 1975 USA-USSR dual, and US v Poland boxing and World Cup wrestling. About a week ago they showed the first half of a 1969 decathlon at the Coliseum.

If it's any consolation, you only missed the women's 100H, men's 100, men's 400, women's 800 (where Madeline Manning came off a 2-year retirement to set an AR of 2:00.3) and the last lap of the steeple. And those old-timers that say TV coverage used to be better? The announcers still sucked in 1975!
